(10.2006)
We rehearsed it and dreamed it and even managed to finish assembling our cd. It was
talked about last time they were in town and now it was really going to happen. A came to
pick us up for the gig. Z was playing Bowie’s Heroes during the ride. We arrived at Empty
Bottle and met Matt immediately, with whom I spoke earlier. We went straight to the green
room and were nothing but blue and silver down there. We had been down there only
once before. Time to setup and unpack the equipment on the floor. Pass a little time with
a set of cocktails and a shoot in the photo booth. A while later Glass Candy starts to
arrive. We see Dusty first and trade hellos. Then Johnny and finally Ida enter. Good to see
all of them. They sound checked first and we were treated to see them test 2 songs. I
believe they were “Etheric Device” and “Cold Party.” Then the Chromatics sound
checked, three boys now. Now it was our turn, we never played with so much professional
equipment and sound, so it was already turning out to be a great experience. A lot of very
special people turned out to see us and we were glad to have them be a part of it. Thanks
to all of them, they know who they be! We went to get dressed and almost promptly begin
the performance at 10. The lights were down as they should be instinctive.

Well there is not a whole lot to explain about the performance, as n. has created videos
for them. I remember seeing Ida and Minotaur dancing during the set. This was truly our
best show so far and will not be forgotten. We really had a good time. It was so serene
and not chaotic. Lovely that people enjoyed our set and stopped to say so. Onward,
upwards and out there for sure. Our friends were so genuine and encouraging and
shared these feelings. So we thank them for their support. Chromatics are very nice and
we got to meet all of them. Glass Candy played mostly recent material and were very
dancey. We danced during the entire set. The encore included “Nite Nurses(!)” and “LOVE
LOVE LOVE(! ! ! ).” We were sorta astonished when Ida thanked EaViL in between songs.
She told us earlier how much she enjoyed us and found us to be creative and original.
That was very special. We have been seeing them consistently the last 4 years and admire
them. It was a little odd when everyone looked at our reaction. We couldn’t help but smile
(we  didn’t bother being cool). Naturally, we ended the night back in McK at Huck Finn
with Sin and a silly waitress who just got it all wrong. We walked home in the light and
pretty rain. Walking, walking in the rain!
